Description:
Opportunity for child and adolescent psychiatrist to work with dynamic team, providing psychiatric evaluations, consultations, and medication services to Children’s Clinic clients. Participates in the multi-disciplinary evaluation and review of client treatment.
The Children’s Clinic is the outpatient component of Cutchins Programs for Children and Families, specializing in the treatment of attachment disruption, trauma, and other challenges experienced by children and adolescents. Located in a sun-filled Victorian home in downtown Northampton, the Clinic offers a welcoming environment to children and families experiencing a broad range of emotional and behavioral challenges. Currently serving more than 350 clients from Hampshire County and the surrounding area, the Clinic began in 1985 with a mission of providing the best-trained clinicians to work with those children most in need of services, a mission that underscores everything we do.
The Children’s Clinic serves clients in a wide range of ages that include very young children (0-6), latency-aged children (7-12), and adolescents (13-18). Our treatment is informed by psychodynamic, attachment oriented and evidence-based approaches.
Essential Position Functions
-Part time Psychiatrist to work at the Children's Clinic on Thursdays from 12:30pm- approx. 6:30pm (hours per week vary depending on number of clients seen-- position paid per hour).
-Participates in lively case consultation weekly with sophisticated Clinical team. Consultations encompass a holistic approach to treatment, reflecting on issues relevant to child, family and systemic functioning.
-Completes medication assessments and medication management for Children's Clinic clients, ranging from 3 years to 18 plus.
Requirements:
Degree: M.D. License –Must be at least Board Eligible in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry

Years and Type of Experience: Minimum needed is successful completion of a US fellowship in child & adolescent psychiatry.

Other Skills or Requirements: Good verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills. Valid DEA certificate and state substance certificate permitting prescribing of Schedule II-V medications. Active liability insurance.

Physical Requirements: Visual acuity to written and computer screen data.
